For the first time, Land Services SA proudly presents the Excellence in Surveying Award, recognising outstanding performance and dedication to high-quality survey outcomes across the industry.

Award winners will be announced at the Spatial Information Day (SID) & the South Australian EISSI Awards – 7th August 2026

Land Services SA Excellence in Surveying Awards

This program is designed to highlight those firms that are demonstrating ongoing excellence in Surveying, as well as crown one firm the annual winner.

1. Light’s Top Five

Honouring the top five South Australian surveying firms demonstrating excellence, precision, and consistency throughout the year.

2. Surveying Firm of the Year

The highest-performing firm from the Top Five, recognised for achieving the overall highest standard across all criteria.


Selection Criteria

Our winners are chosen based on excellence in the following areas:

Quality Plan Lodgement: Recognition is given to firms achieving the lowest requisition rates, showcasing minimal errors and repeat issues in their Plans.

Professional Development and Education: Recognising firm staff who actively participate in our monthly LSSA Industry Education Webinar Series and maintain a presence at key industry events.

Exemplary Business Practices: Recognises businesses that uphold a professional and constructive relationship with us and their peers, setting industry benchmarks for others to follow.


General Eligibility

  • Must be a South Australian based Surveying Firm.
  • Plans must be lodged consistently throughout the award year.


Quality Plan Lodgement

  • Firms must demonstrate precision in their submissions by achieving one of the lowest requisition rates.
  • Firms must show minimal requisitions for simple errors, indicating a high level of attention to detail.
  • Firms must demonstrate that there are minimal to no instances where plans are requisitioned on the same grounds more than once.


Professional Development and Education

  • Firms must ensure that their staff regularly attend Land Services SA Industry Education Webinars, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Firms must be actively engaging with industry partners, showing a proactive approach to staying connected and informed within the industry.
